"A Breath of Hope" Expressive Arts Workshop for Lung Cancer Patients

Date: 23 January 2018 (Tuesday, 2:00pm – 4:00pm) Location: Room D, L205-208, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC), 30 Pak Tin Street, Shek Kip Mei, Kowloon, Hong Kong
Often times lung cancer patients feel anxious when diagnosed and during treatment. Relaxation and stress management techniques can significantly reduce emotional distress and promote a healthy psychological state.

On 23 January, we partnered with Cancer Information to invite around 20 lung cancer patients and their caregivers to learn relaxation and emotional distress reduction techniques. The event was instructed by Julie Fung, Registered Arts Therapist and Director of Healing Arts, and Clinical Oncologist Dr. Patricia Poon. Through a creative platform, lung cancer patients were guided to express themselves to relieve stress.

Participants actively engaged in the session and spent a joyful afternoon with us. We hope those who attended will find the stress reduction activities beneficial.
